The Hacking Pain Hack-a-thon will take place during PainConnect 2025, part of AAPM’s Annual Meeting in April. This high-energy, three-day event will bring together healthcare professionals, technologists, engineers, and entrepreneurs to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in chronic pain care.

Driving Innovation in Pain Management

Building on the success of AAPM’s Innovation Challenge, this event will:

  • Foster cross-sector collaboration among experts in healthcare, technology, and business.
  • Develop impactful solutions that address health equity and access to pain care.
  • Connect participants with mentors, investors, and thought leaders in the pain management space.
  • Provide a platform for innovation, with finalists presenting their ideas at AAPM’s Venture Networking Reception.
This Year’s Theme: Health Equity & Access to Pain Care

Millions of individuals struggle with chronic pain, yet access to quality care remains a challenge—especially for underserved populations. This year’s focus will be on reducing disparities in care for:

  • Medicare/Medicaid recipients
  • Differently-abled individuals
  • Patients in rural or low-income communities

Solutions will explore how to meet patients where they are and ensure equitable pain management options.
