Call for Abstracts: PainConnect 2025

The American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) invites you to submit your research abstracts for consideration at the 2025 Annual Meeting. This is your opportunity to showcase your work, contribute to the advancement of pain medicine, and engage with peers and experts in the field.

Important Dates:

  • Call for Abstracts Open: October 7, 2024
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: January 3, 2025
  • Abstract Notifications Sent: February 10, 2025
  • Call for Late-Breaking Posters Opens: February 10, 2025
  • Late-Breaking Posters Closes: February 21, 2025
  • Late-Breaking Notifications sent starting February 24, 2025

Submission Overview

All abstracts must be submitted through our online submission system. Please ensure your submission adheres to the following guidelines:

Abstract Title

Limit to 130 characters, including spaces, in sentence format.

Submitting Author Details

The submitting author will receive all communications regarding the abstract and is responsible for informing the other authors as necessary

Type of Abstract:

  • Case Study/Case Report
  • Investigator Initiated Independent Study
  • Industry-Sponsored Study*
  • Retrospective Review
  • Other

*Industry-sponsored studies must pay the $2,500 submission fee when submitting the abstract. The fee covers registration full meeting registration for one presenter. The Academy will issue a full refund if the abstract is not selected.

Requirements:

  • Abstracts should be original and not previously presented or published. Significant modifications are required if the work has been presented or published elsewhere.
  • The abstract text should be concise and informative, limited to 300 words; references are separate and not included in the word count.
  • Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment to the presenting author to present their work if the abstract is accepted. Presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including the meeting registration fee, travel, and accommodations.
  • A clear and structured format is recommended.

    • Tables (not included in 300-word count) 
    • Acknowledgements (please acknowledge any funding source and contributors to the research)
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English and free of typographical, grammatical, and syntax errors.
  • All accepted abstract authors will be expected to submit a disclosure form.

Considerations:

  • Abstracts are subject to rejection if all instructions have not been followed.
  • Abstracts must be free of commercial bias. Any information regarding commercial products must be based on generally accepted scientific methods. Any discussion of pharmaceuticals or devices will use generic names, when possible, and will be in the context of a review of the full range of therapeutic options.  

Reviewing and Grading Process:

  • All submissions will be reviewed and rated by members of the AAPM Scientific Poster Abstract Committee, who have expertise in the relevant clinical areas. Submissions will be evaluated for originality, appropriateness of methodological approaches, and conclusions to results. 

Presentation During the Meeting:

  • Accepted abstracts will be presented as ePosters during the 2025 Annual Meeting in the Exhibition Hall.
  • Moderated poster sessions will provide an opportunity for brief discussion and feedback.
  • Meeting registration and attendance is required for all presenters, and for accepted abstracts to be scheduled.
